I thought I posted this yesterday. Cathy jogged my memory. I picked up three of the Breyer's coupons at either the Chicago Ave. Evanston store or the Green Bay Wilmette store last week. They were in front of the Breyer's display. They were a tear off. They expire on 9/15. They are also good on Popsicles.

    Thanks!

Sorry I did not look earlier. They were in the freezer case with the ice cream.

Hi- On Next Door, somebody just posted that she called up Jewel corporate recently, and said her 90 year old mother was frustrated because she did not have a cell phone, and she felt that she needed the app to get the deals at Jewel. The person told the daughter that when she and the mother go to the store, and they get to checkout, they can explain that they do not have a J4U account, but they were told by corporate that they could get the deals anyway. She said that Jewel is trying to make their cashiers aware that this program exists. There is some way they can ring up the order, and the person can get the deal without showing their app. or entering in their phone number. The daughter said that most of the cashiers are not aware of this program, and they have to have the front end manager show them how to ring up the order. I know a lot of seniors are frustrated because they do not have a smart phone, or have a computer, and are not able to take advantage of the deals. Yes, I know they can use the computers at the public library, but that is one more trip they have to make, and they often do not know how to log on to a computer. The daughter told the person at corporate, that if there was not an easy way for her mother to get the deals, she was going to go somewhere else. Hope this helps, Nancy

The $1.00 hot dogs (Today only sale - hot in the deli dept) are Nathan's brand, and they are not small dogs at ALL at my store. I was expecting standard skinny weenies, but these are big boys. ALso, even tho I shouldn't be eating them, the Jewel 18ct bakery cookies in the bag are $1.99 today only. They are not great or anything, lots of artificial flavor going on, but always soft, and butter flavory, and decent amt of choc chips. I brought them in for the office workmates, but I'll eat several of 'em.

I don't use my cell phone for J4U deals -- I just use my desktop computer at home. So it is possible to get the deals without a cell phone -- even without the offer from HQ. (Of course, I realize it's possible the person mention in the post above doesn't have a computer at home. But if you do, no need to go without the deals.)

I used my desktop also for searching and clipping coupons. When I do use my cellphone at the store is to doublecheck the details, if I did not write them down already.

I am going to talk to the Jewel manager in my store about this senior program. What upset me was the lady who wanted to pay 99 cents for strawberries without having the coupon it was $3.99. The employee did not offer this alternative for them. She never bought the strawberries.

At the HP Jewel yesterday, there was a sign about purchasing Vienna hot dogs, you received free Maryann buns and 6-pack of 7.25 ounce Pepsi soda. At Deerfield and Lake Forest Jewels, there was no mention. I talked friends to order as specified, they paid only for the $4.99 Vienna sausages with the other two components gratis. It was yesterday only for this combo.

I get the impression that you have to mention every deal that you should get. It would be nice if you could just say that I don't have a cell phone or computer, and ask if I can get the J4U coupons, without specifically mentioning each one of them. I usually click at least ten coupons each week, and if I had to remember and mention each one, it would slow up the line. If you did this you would not be able to use self checkout either, although I doubt the mother does. I just noticed that if you go to the website, you can click all of the coupons, without doing them individually. I got a $1.99 for up to ten Healthy Choice or Marie Callender. They are all the ones that are normally $3.99. I also got a $1.99 for a quart of Lucerne yogurt, a $1.99 for Challenge butter, and a $2.99 for the Home Run Inn small pizzas, as well as all of the good produce ones. The only thing I don't see is a coupon for low fat ice cream or frozen yogurt

It kind of defeats the purpose of having a loyalty program if everyone can get everything, without any effort or really joining the loyalty program.

The J4U program also penalizes low income people who do not have smart phones or computers, and those and the seniors are the ones that would most benefit from the discounts. It would be nice if they just had coupons in the store that you could clip like they used to. A lot of people don't feel comfortable downloading the coupons.

I do not shop at Jewel very much, being the unicorn like Marianos coupon clipper, but when I do, it works the same as Marianos. I clip the coupons on my computer, and at the store put my phone number in the pin pad. Everything rings up automatically. Not sure I have ever done a sampler so that might be different.

The BOGO banana bread isn't horrible at $5 for 2 loaves. They have a plain, and a chocolate chip at the 2 stores I've been to. Worth having in the freezer at that price, imo. I'ma buy many loaves.

I don't recall anything on the web site where you can click to clip all coupons. There is a spot to show just the weekly ad coupons, but they have to be clipped individually. It is a bit of a pain to use as every time you clip a coupon it goes to the end of the list while the next unclipped coupon moves up a slot.

The e-mail titled "Your Weekly Savings" from sender "Jewel-Osco Weekly Deals" does have a clip all coupons button that takes you to the web site with all weekly ad coupons clipped. Some of the weekly ad coupons are shown in the e-mail with a button to clip this coupon. Unfortunately this immediately takes you to the web site with one coupon clipped so you have to go through the process noted in the previous paragraph.

I never use the clip all coupons button because there are always a huge number of coupons for products I would not want or where the deal is uninteresting. I usually use the My List item in the drop-down menu under my account to print a list of all my coupons. From the ad you can also click pictures to add to the list. The big downside here is that often there are pictures of a whole bunch of items at the same price and then maybe one or two of them show up as single item in the list.

That's true for Kroger/Marianos, and seemingly the majority of American megabusinesses: They use developers who aren't familiar with the needs and typical uses of those who will attempt to use their systems, both customers and employees; developers who lack wisdom and foresight to know that testing matters and what to do when things don't go as planned; and executives who don't use the products, don't shop in the stores, and don't care in the least about customer experiences until the situation gets so bad they are overtaken by competitors or corporate raiders. Abyssmal software is the bane of the American existence.

If you go back though this thread (and in the Food 4 Less thread as well), you should detect that I have clipped the digital coupons for each and typed in the alternate ID at the checkout lane touch pad [the Jewel-Osco alternate ID is different from the Food 4 Less | Mariano's one]. I have gotten the affinity sale prices from compiling a list here on this desktop computer. This included the times I shopped on Saturday.
(Sometimes Tony's Fresh Market does not respect that I clipped the digital coupon. That was corrected by going to the service desk.)

Jewel has all of their $4.49 Lean Cuisine on sale through J4U for 4/$10. You have to buy four of them, and there is a limit of four for that price. They then have two different coupons for Lean Cuisine, and so I bought four of the Lean Cuisine for $6 total.

Has anybody here bought the $.99 muskmelons at Jewel? I picked up one that looked like it had potential. I also bought one of the $1,99 mini watermelon. I bought one of those a few weeks ago, and it was good.

I have not yet logged in on Jewel-Osco, so I did not view this. The general Jewel-Osco advert in this week's Flyer does not mention an upper limit for the Stouffer's | Lean Cuisine - just that it is B1G1F. If its regular price is $4.49, that breaks down to 2.24. Is the limit of four on the items, or on the offer? I am willing to pay 2.24 for 8, 12, or 16 entrees [knowledge of eight being able to fit in one bag]. (I would also scour the store to see if it had any J J's pies.)
