Tacos are the perfect food to take on a walk — or in this case, a crawl. On Thursday, July 20, the Rogers Park Business Alliance is hosting its annual Taco Crawl in which 14 restaurants on two routes along Clark Street will offer their signature tacos to participants, with a tequila cocktail at the end.

Tickets for the Rogers Park Taco Crawl are $20 in advance and are available on the RPBA website.

And again, advance tickets sold out. We've played says limited number of day-of guys will be available, at a premium to the advanced ticket.

Perhaps we can take the list of restaurants, and create an LTH taco-thon someday. No tickets, just a group of people walking together, eating tacos in Rogers Park.

Chouxfly and I did this yesterday. The weather was perfect, and while splitting the event into two separate routes did kindle a bit of FOMO, it was far less stressful and wasteful than trying to do the whole enchilada in one go as we did last year.

My personal faves were the pork taco at Taqueria El Chorrito (6404 N Clark) and the shrimp taco at El Pulpo Loco (6619 N. Clark).

We did this too--we elected to buy one ticket and split the tacos between us (pretty easy to do, as all but one taco had two tortillas) and took the Cilantro route. It was still a pretty good amount of food. Maybe next year we'll buy a ticket for each route and split all of them. But yes, it would be easy to craft your own crawl and get a taco at each stop--my partner and I may start doing this on our own.
