After a two-year suspension, in-venue events are resuming for Illinois Craft Beer Week. Since I now have 1GB Fiber broadband internet here at the abode, I was actually able to purchase tickets for ICBW events. I do have a ticket for Beer Under Glass Friday afternoon @ Union Station.
(Ohmigawd! The terst way I can describe what happened to me on the night after Beer Under Glass is= I was homeless for four hours. Yes, it has taken until now for me to admit this.)
[edit]
The RTA needs to consolidate its pass programs. Were I to obtain a seven-day Ventra pass on Saturday, it would not cover my ride on the Pace #309 bus.![]()
In 2023, it has done this![]()
I have utilized my Ventra seven-day transit pass on a number of Pace routes, including the #309 and #313, and #322 [Rock Bottom Lombard], and which will let me use nearby Pace routes on a handful of routes. If you intend to fulfill the fifty breweries on routes which intend to (be | hide) the ICBG locations; The Perch needs to be one of those locations.

Argh. A finger slipped and I did not notice it.Willkat98 wrote: I believe this is 350 Brewing in Tinley Park, and actually should be in your "defunct" list. It's gone. Thanks for the write up!
Saw this while at Penrose last weekend.

Thank you for filling in more detail on this.dirtyappraiser wrote: I happen to reside in Tinley Park. FYI, Soundgrowler does not own Flipside. They are their own entities. Flipside is in a strip mall at 183rd and Harlem, has decent beers, and average bar food. It is owned by a former owner/brewmaster of 350 Brewing.
Soundgrowler is located in an industrial area, has some excellent beers and very good street tacos of which I like the carne asada and the al pastor. They do however, play death metal. It's pretty low key. Not my music choice, but, actually never really notice the music as it's very conversation friendly.
Now, as for the beer trolley. I was on it Wednedsay and it was great. I picked up at Hillgrove Tap, 171st and Lagrange. It makes stops along the way at SIP (wine and app joint on Oak Park Ave) , Soundgrowler, Hailstorm (which is like 2 block walk south of Soundgrowler), Open Bottle (a great beer store), and Flipside. Banging Gavel is supposed to open shortly and will be on the route as well (it's next to SIP). The trolley is free and runs from 5pm-10pm on Wednesdays thru August 30.
