That's good to know. However, very often, if you phone a place that doesn't take reservations and explain that you will be arriving with a large party (e.g. ten or so) at a specific time, they will set up for it, essentially treating it like a reservation.

I think $3.25 is a very typical price for a soft drink at a restaurant charging $16 for an 8-ounce cheeseburger. Not at all exorbitant.
