Hi- They have pledge drive again on WTTW, and Geoffrey Baer has a new show on Food in Chicago. I watched a few minutes of it while they were talking about Al's Deli. Hope this helps, Nancy

Here's a Food in Chicago show, but it's from some years ago:

Maybe the show is not new, but I had never seen it before, and I have seen most of his shows on multiple occasions. I just noticed it was from 2009. Thanks, Nancy

Dobra Bielinski aka Cookie Monster was in this episode. One take away was Dobra's comments about some Polish food served in Chicago are rarely seen now in today's Poland.

Kantha Shelke from Culinary Historians was present, too.

I edited the recipes for the companion book. The joys of being handed a recipe that really was just some notes without any rhyme or reason.

I have not seen this documentary in while, but I am sure there are others I should highlight.

I caught a bit of this the other night over-the-air and laughed out loud at the exchange at about 27:10.

GB: Now what makes a particularly good potato?
Maureen: What makes a good potato? When they're grown in good Irish soil.
