I would assume whomever is doing the catering takes it back to the kitchen, slices it all up and then they hair bring it out on trays and let people pick? Someone who's been at a wedding recently might be able to answer more properly.

thanks, i've made a few wedding cakes in my day; but with only 1 kind of cake in all the layers. i just started wondering if there would be cake envy when a wedding guest turns to a fellow guest and sees they have a different (better?) flavor. not the baker's fault, in any case!
justjoan wrote:i dont really understand how the wedding cake with 3 completely different cakes works: do guests get whatever flavor lands in front of them; do they get a choice; or do some guests ask for a slice of all 3??? thanks
