Quiet Halloween around our house. We have a ton of candy left and I have the willpower of a 6-week-old puppy. We have mostly good stuff, Almond Joy, M&M's, Kit Kat, Nestle Crunch, and Tootsie Pop. Small size, pop two in your mouth before you even realize what you are doing.

yep, i have no willpower around small candies (as long as they contain chocolate). so i was much relieved to find out that there are almost no trick'or'treaters on my stretch of street in logan square. this year my bell rang exactly once. the reason is, of course, depressing as hell: parents are worried about their kids safety and/or about them getting unsafe candy. so that sucks. but i no longer have to buy only candy that i don't like myself; nothing else was safe to have around...

We had more trick or treaters this year than we've had in the past few years but still had quite a bit of candy leftover. Usually, it's pretty easy to just dump it all at my office -- where it disappears almost immediately -- and never look back. However, this year's batch seems particularly fresh and tasty. So, I'm feeling a bit more reluctant to give it up . . . :D

Got 1 big Costco bag and turned out the lights and stopped answering the bell when it was gone. Our street is always very crowded. Candy lasted until about 5:30.

My dog hates Halloween as all the lawn scaries scare her. But the next day we couldn't walk more than every 5 feet without her stopping to check out the news from the night before.

My experience is that the little guys don't usually taste much like their full-size counterparts. So, I was surprised when some fun size bars we ended up with really tasted like something other than generic sweetness. I had kind of given up on Snickers bars, for example, but the few I had this year really tasted great. It was actually a treat (as opposed to a Big Candy trick).
