Every day is. At least for the time being.

February 9 - 28 is the Sam's warehouse sale. I received my catalogue in the mail this past weekend. Most items included in the sale are between 20-30% off, with some pushing 35%.

The scotch selection is very good, with many of those mentioned above in this thread included. The timing is pretty bad though, since I know you all are having an outing today, February 8 (regretably, I cannot attend this event due to a conflict).

Keep in mind this sale is not the entire store, but only a selection of certain, typically slower-moving, items. There are some gems out there though.

    Happy hunting,
    Simon

I don't know if anyone saw, but Southwest has a special on tickets from Midway right now. $79 each way to/from Seattle, Oakland, and San Diego, among others:

    http://www.southwest.com/jp/050122_chic ... c=et021505

You guys should make a quick trip to Seattle or Oakland (SF) before the Dungeness season is over.

I was quite disappointed Portland wasn't on the list.

After getting used to seeing local coupons on the back of my Dominick's receipts on occasion, it wasn't that big of a shock to see some on the back of my Jewel-Osco receipts over at their Howard location (just east of McCormick). But what blew my mind away was that there was a coupon for the Evanston Chicken Shack right in the middle of my foot-long bill! This store's barely in Evanston, and I'm now the happy recipient of a "valuable" coupon that'll work at the ECS for the next five months. Words truly escape me (or at least they did as I made my way out to the parking lot). Here's what the coupon said:

    Evanston Chicken Shack
[bordered by a flapping chicken on the left and the message:
"We Deliver! Celebrating Our 15th Year"]
    1925 Ridge Ave. / Evanston
    847-328-9360
    Mon.-Sat. 10am-12:45am
www.evanstonchickenshack.com [whoa, didn't know they had a site]
CHICKEN / CHICKEN WINGS / RIB TIPS / SHRIMP / CATFISH / PERCH / SALADS

The small advertisement was broken up into the text listed above, and two small coupons below, whose text reads as follows:

    FREE 4 Piece Chicken Dinner
when you purchase a 4 piece Chicken
Dinner of equal or greater value

    FREE 2 Piece Chicken Dinner
when you purchase a 2 piece Chicken
Dinner of equal or greater value

May not be combined with other offers or specials. One coupon per customer. Expires 8/15/05.

Now those are some coupons I'm gonna use (especially if I can use both on different occasions/transactions). Sure makes my trips to Jewel more worthwhile.

The "Free Shopper Guide" always has a few restaurant coupons in it (FSG
available lots of places, including libraries etc in Glenview, Skokie, Evanston,
    stores on the northside etc).

Well, the last 2 FSG's have had a "buy 1 get 1 entree free" coupon for
Chopal Kabab and Steak, on Devon! First time that any Indian Devon eatery has
advertised in that way, to such a general publication, IIRC. It is only dine-in, but
doesnt seem to have an expiry date.

So, if youre in the vicinty (and have a friend with you), drop by - and try
the best Indian chilli chicken in the city. If you order 2 of them (with
free accompanying salad and rice, and a "sweet corn chicken soup" that
will only appeal to you if youre Indian), it should set you back a grand total of
about 7 bucks, tax included :-) (the other option might be to go with a
chilli chicken and a sarson-ka-saag, both might be the best versions in
the city, and the total bill will probably still be the same). Even the parking
is free (though I think its only like a half-dozen spots, in the alley behind
the restaurant). Chopal is at 2240 West Devon.

    c8w,

thanks for the chopal coupon mention, that will be very useful, most likely I'll do the chili-chicken, sarson combination, though I might sub in the goat champs (btw, have you tried those yet - the coupon might be a good way to try those out as well)

The Evanston Chicken Shack coupon is back!

It's on page 16 (lower left) of the 8/24/2005 issue of the Evanston Round Table.

The ad has two coupons. Both are 2-for-1 deals -- one is for the 4-piece chicken dinner, the other is for the 2-piece chicken dinner. Better still the coupons are good until 12-31-2005.

Saeco Italia (refurbished, I think this model has been discontinued) espresso machine, $299 at Frys.com

Price should be good until the 12th, but who knows if they'll keep it in stock. Refurbished Italias normally go for $450-550, and new went $600-700 when they were sitll available.

I dunno how many people this will interest, but it seems up the alley of someone here. I have no personal experience with this machine, so do your due diligence and make sure it's a good product. All I know is that it's a good deal.
