Has anybody tried the Mama Bear Atlantic salmon burgers? They are B1G2 free through 9/1, There are five burgers in a package. I paid $14.99 for a total of 15 burgers. I don't love them, but for $1 a burger they are worth it. I've found out that they work out better if you fry them in a frying pan with some olive oil. I tried doing them in the oven, and they broke apart when I tried to turn them. Not all of the Jewel stores carry them. I got mine at the Wilmette Green Bay store. Salmon burgers are getting to be harder to find. I used to buy Trident at Mariano's, which I like better than these, but they quit carrying them, and no I do not belong to Costco.

BTW- All I have won in the flavor adventure contest, is one reward, and one coupon I will ever actually use. I also won some coupons that I will never use, and a few recipes. Somebody on Slick Deals reported that you can use 10 different tabs to play the game what ever that means. Hope this helps, Nancy

I've won 8 rewards, and several $10.00 off coupons for any purchase, deli, produce, meat despite the fact that I couldn't find the game for the first week. This is by far the best results I've ever had for one of these games.

Might try the Krack Corn, $2.99 for that size bag of caramel corn seems like a pretty good deal.
Cherries double in price in a week - who says inflation is in check?
And why does Jewel still sell solution-added pork when they've gone to "real" chicken? If not for the solution, that pork tenderloin would be really really tempting.

At $1.99 a pound, Jewel is still losing money on those cherries. My Sister has been getting $4.99 a pound for upick, and $5.99 a pound for cherries at her fruit stand. When I was home to Michigan last weekend, Meijers had Western cherries on sale for $3.99. The cherries I bought for $.99 at Jewel on Friday were okay, but they were not nearly as good as my sister's cherries, and yes I got her cherries for free. The pint of cherries I paid $8 for at the farmer's market yesterday were also much better.

    Jewel:
    7/5-7/11

    5.99 6oz portions
    Filet Mignon
    Salmon

I'm not doing the exact math, but that's $5.99 for 6/16th's of one lb of salmon that they routinely have on sale for $5.99/lb. Last week it was $6.99/lb.

Ok, so my coffee kicked in...
6oz = 6/16th of one pound, so my brain just wants to do it like this the first time through: 6 X 2.25 = 16oz (one pound)

    5.99 x 2 .25%

    $13.48 per lb?
    Previous week it was $6.99/lb.

I'm not anti Jewel pricing games. They do what they do, and they gotta make money, like any other business, and I love having them around. Hi- During the Flavor Adventure game yesterday, I won a coupon for $2 off a pound of Atlantic salmon. Is Jewel's Atlantic salmon any good? If it goes on sale for $6.99 a pound again, I might redeem my coupon.

I also only have one land to compete on the game. What happens when I run out of lands? Can I start over again? So far I have just acquired 6 free rewards, and maybe four coupons that I can use, including one for $1 off ice cream, and one for $1 off any loaf of bread. Once I finish the last land, will they let me start over again? It was frustrating last night, because I plaid the game three times, and two out of the three times, I had to look at the seafood video which is the longest one.

Yes, you just start over again. I haven't won anything useful at all. None of the coupons, recipes, or deals are things that I would ordinarily buy. Their mini games appear to be good for nothing but sweepstakes entries.

I won a 15 off 15 for paper goods & cleaning supplies today for going thru all the lands again. Unless you have Superman X-ray vision don't even attempt to try and follow the shuffle 3-card monte games. My strategy for those is to just pick the same one, left, right,or middle, every time. I hear ya on this, but I've fallen to the dark side on their pork tenderloin when it's on this type of a sale. I've restocked the freezer. It's not a ton of salt- solution, but I do have to make sure to use a less salty approach. They are vac sealed, so it's easy to just buy em, and stick em in the freezer, and pull one out as needed. They thaw quickly, and cook quickly, too. It's one of the staples over here for easy peasy weeknight. Usually just rub, then 1.5 hours on the pellet grill at 225 to 145 degrees. No thinking needed. Great for a bigger family feed, too.

I bought two of the strawberries on Thursday, and I did not think they were that good. I ended up buying two quarts of Michigan strawberries at the Evanston market for way more money, and they were better.

Has anybody tried the Saturday sampler plant butter yet? I am not sure if it is any good.

For those people that are playing the Flavor Adventure game, if you complete all of the lands, you get your choice of coupons, most of which are worth $15. There is a $15 off $15 worth of meat and seafood, and the Mama Bear Atlantic salmon burgers are B1 G2 free, and so you get 15 salmon burgers for $15.99, but if you have a $15 coupon from the Flavor Adventure game, you can get the whole thing for $.99 if you can use the coupon on frozen seafood.

On Slick Deals, people are reporting that the $15 meat coupon is no longer available. Today I think I watched the video 7 times, and the only thing I got that I could use was the $.75 off the Signature Select quarts of yogurt. I got a $1 off a loaf of bread last week. I have not yet reached $15 off coupon level, but paper (think toilet paper) would interest me greatly.

I am not fond of this variant of the game. I do find myself shopping in $10 increments.

I.ve made it through the lands once so far, and I am half way through the second time. The first time I chose the $15 paper, and if that is all there is left when I make it through the second time, I could see myself getting the paper again, although with the personal care, I could probably get some shampoo that I like, but it is $18, and so I don't buy it very often.

I played 10 games yesterday for the first time, and the only thing I won that I could use was the $.75 off a quart of signature select yogurt. Both of the seafood videos are the longest to get through. The strawberry one and the produce one are not as bad.

Hi Cathy-I assumed you were not watching the videos when you said you had not completed all of the lands. When you get to the game, you click on menu in the L upper quarter, and you click on rules and alternate entry, and then the video pops up. You can play up to 10 times a day by watching video. It takes you a while to watch 10 videos. If you do 10 videos a day, you can complete all the lands in four days. There were a few people on Slick Deals that got four $15 off $15 of meat coupons. Hope this helps, Nancy

A new Jewel frustration: The self checkout software has changed so it shows all the coupons and personal prices after pressing Pay. Previously it announced adjustments after each item. I enjoyed hearing that "4.99 savings 4.99" on free items (especially the strange accent on the final 9!), and it made keeping track of coupons much easier.

The new scheme is the same as Mariano's/Pick-n-Save. There, I often find I need to press Pay and Go Back to check that coupons are applied. Yuck.
