It's known that J4U accounts have been hacked and points were used at out of state stores. Sadly, two factor authentication is part of the new norm.

Jewel had a major problem with people having their points hacked usually by somebody out of state. California was the most common state, and they had to do something. It is still happening on occasion for people that have the Fresh Pass Since I don't have Fresh Pass, I don't have 1,000 points sitting in my account, and so it has never happened to me, but it has happened to lots of people that have Fresh Pass. People would find out that all of their points were used by somebody in California, and they would have to call Jewel and ask for their points back. There are cases where somebody who did not log into their account, would get an email with a code to log into their account. This email would occur, because somebody else tried to log into their account. I belong to the Facebook group Jewel deals with Barb, and there are tons of members of that group that it has happened to. Albertson's is still trying to find a solution so this does not happen. The Facebook group has over 10,000 members. You have to ask to be added to the group, in order to see it. Hope this helps, Nancy

I was in Jewel last night, and they had Amylu chicken sausage on sale B1G1F. I think the sale ends on 5/21. It is normally $6.79. It is my favorite chicken sausage. They never put it on sale that cheap at Jewel. BTW- The Chicago Ave. store in Evanston has a larger selection to choose from than the Green Bay Wilmette store does. I usually buy it at Whole Foods because they put it on sale at least once a month for $3.99 plus 10% off if you are a member of Prime.

I could not find the free chocolate truffles at the Chicago Ave. store last night. I will try to go to one of the Wilmette stores tomorrow to see if they have it.

Nancy: At the Waukegan store they had no truffles, but when I asked they substituted Signature Select sea salt caramels. Apparently they had had truffles, but by 11:30am on Saturday they were all gone. It might be worth asking for a substitution if the truffles aren't available.

Cynthia: Logging into the JewelOsco website, it's still possible to to do Use Password and avoid fiddling with the email and code.

There might be an option for you to "use password" instead of the secret code on the same screen that prompts you for the passcode, near the bottom. They'll still send you the email with the passcode. Knowing what I know about IT, my guess is that whoever they partnered with for the passcode duped the pointy haired boss into believing that a few pennies per passcode requested was a bargain, then they promptly made them sign a rock solid contract stating such, and proceeded to tell their programming team to make it mandatory for a passcode to be send under all circumstances. When I log into my account, even if I select "use password" I still get the email with the passcode, and I don't even use the passcode, I just login with username and pwd, like I used to.

I did get to Jewel-Osco this past Saturday.
I manuevered my way on-line to clip the digital 'forU' coupons, which this receipt shows accounted for savings of $48.60. I allow you to make your own judgment, but I will allow myself to be tracked for savings of this magnitude. :|
That was a lousy photo I took of the receipt. I redo it with these two more-processed images.

Of course, there's no real need to put in authentic personal info to get the savings. In my case, Jewel knows that my great uncle who died in 1880’s Philadelphia loves cheap cashews and is a sucker for Saturday Sampler energy drinks. It's fun to see how high a ratio of Total Saved to Spent you can get. Sometimes 3 or 4 to 1.
