    Speaking of....
I hit up "Mall Of India" down the street from Park To Shop.
I was in there a few months ago - prolly a year, actually. Looks like they have 3 or 4 food vendors that are functioning. I had chicken Rogan Josh platter (very good helping of bone in rogan josh and 2 small, flaky/chewy, parathas,) and I also ordered one potato samosa, and one onion samosa. They gave me a side of grilled green skinny peppers that were salted. They sizzled me good. It was the kind of hot that I felt in my eyeballs. I thought I made a bad mistake and they were gonna keep getting stronger, and put a hurtin on me, but it dissipated pretty quickly. I'd suggest hitting the places up, and starting a list. The trial meal I had was very promising. It was a little bit busy, and I was a little short on time, so I couldn't get a great understanding of all the menus. But it looks like 2 of the vendors had a decent list of gravy dishes, one vendor had a good list more tinged towards biryanis, one vendor was more tinged towards sweets, but had a few savories, and one vendor was geared up for "Street Foods" at which I saw some orders that looked like Bhel Puri type snack/treat things. Big seating area, lots of folks enjoying foods. Pretty much a mall food court. That grocery store attached, "Indiaco" has a food counter in the back of the store - all vegetarian. I was VERY impressed with the one take out order we got there. There's also a small butcher attached a little further down the corridor from the food court.

I know this whole post is a bit off topic, but in that same mall area of Mall Of India, on the south side, but across the parking lot, there's a Hyderbad House "coming soon."

If I lived in the area, I'd be thinking this mall food court is worth visiting on the regular if you have interest in Indian food. I'd suggest this Mall of India food court deserves a thread if anyone is interested, and able to make visits.

OOOH, also, the food vendor I ordered from...they were so foreign that they had me pronounce my one syllable name like three times. IMO - that is a good thing. Please don't come at me for some idea of shaming. He had a thick accent, I'm sure he thought I did, too. We had a mildly hard time understanding each other, but we laughed together a few times. It's not a bad thing. He was extremely friendly, and I hope I came off as friendly in his eyes. The sweets guy, ignored me however. So when he skipped over me for someone else, I left. I don't care. I'm too old and too happy to even consider caring. I don't make extra effort to give people my money anymore.

    Mall of India

The actual sign for Mall of India is just next to the Indiaco Grocery Store. You can access the "mall" through it's own doors, or there is an entrance to the mall near the back end of this Indiaco grocery store. The grocery store is all vegetarian, and it has a hot food and snack kitchen in the back. I've ordered one full takeout meal for the family from Indiaco's food counter, and it was VERY good. Hot, fresh, surprisingly spicy and bountiful. The food counter is called "Rajula's Kitchen" and you'll find a menu linked through the Indiaco site, but that menu doesn't have the full list of offerings. There are a good amount of hot foods offered, that probably changes daily, so it's not on the online menu. I don't recall everything we tried, but I know we had a few gravy dishes, and a biriyani - all vegetarian.

South of the mall, and Indiaco, in the same parking lot, is one of the most interesting, but definitely ghetto grocery stores I've ever been to. International Fresh Market. I kinda think I love it. It's like bargain bin fruit market, combined with a medium sized bodega, that seems like it should be in Jackson Heights, NY, catering to a small, multi ethnic community. Perhaps it would be at home on the outskirts of the Devon drag here in Chicago. It has a hot food snack counter with taqueria offerings, and middle eastern offerings. There's a fridge with about 10-20 different salsas from a few diff brands that are outstanding - creamy jalapeno; peanut; creamy-ish arbol, and plenty more. Indian, Mid Eastern, and Eastern European foods are stuffed into the freezer aisle. Meat counter, fish counter, deli counter, Halal butcher. Their sale ads display absolutely NUTTY prices, but sometimes the fruits and veggies leave a lot to be desired. Prepare for the items with the crazy prices to be used that day. Spend time choosing fresh produce here. I've learned to cut my losses if the items appear to be not worth the hassle of picking over. Like, sure, I could buy these item, but by the time I prep it, <remove the "spots", we'll say> I might have less product than if I would have paid full price at a diff market. If you get the drift. This is definitely not true of all of their produce, by any means. Some of it is perfectly fine, even when it's a nutso price.
I don't even have to look at the ad to list examples. I rarely see an ad of theirs that doesn't have a handful of prices that will make you do a double take.

So, I went back to Mall Of India food court for another go at the vendor I visited before. I think it is Nanni's Kitchen? I promise I'll get the name right at some point, but "Nanni's" is close. It's good, folks. This time, it was Chicken Kadhai, with roti. Both times, the food was absolutely piping hot. The chicken has been "bone-in" so beware of that. This chicken kadhai was fantastic - nicely spicy, fall of the bone, super tender, and flavored throughout. Even the bones were suck-worthy. Roti were just fine. I think I want to try lots of their food. I also got an order of fried round potato balls coated in rice flour batter? "Punugunu?" Nicely spicy as well - not potato boring, but popping with spice. Came with a cooling peanut chutney for dipping.
