    We returned to Jim's for a replay a few weeks following our first fish sandwich. Pre cooked fish patty with no crispness. Mediocre, yet still tastier than McDonalds version. No onions for me, please.
    If you aren't tasting, you aren't cooking.

    I love this picture. I wish I could have seen how it happened.

    Our adventurous omnivorous kid recently enjoyed a fried fish sandwich at a pub out of town and is asking for one again. Where are the go tos these days? Can be very casual or not. But excellent frying, mayo or tartar, and pickles de rigeur. Bonus for nearer Bucktown than not.

    Coincidentally I enjjoyed a Superdawg Superfish yesterday. Was at the UPS store across the street and Mr. Fish was calling me. Its always a toss between that and the dog.

    Hagen's is my go to fish sandwich lately, its what McD wants to be when it grows up.

    HOW “ADVENTUROUS”? HOW “OMNIVOROUS”?

    Our next-door neighbors have a four-year old with an incredible range of culinary tastes, due mostly to her mixed-ethnic family background. This delightful moppet will almost always go along with parental cries of “Try it! You’ll like it!”

    As a result, her Fishwich-of-Choice has evolved to:
    • Four White Castle Fish-with-Cheese singles;
    • Made with pickles and Jalapeno Cheese;
    • Deconstructed and re-arranged into Two Doubles
    • Mayo/tartar OTS

    White Castle not only fries the fish to her satisfaction, but you can’t get any more casual and still attract customers. And…like city pigeons…they are everywhere.

    Years ago, Evil Ronnie waxed poetic on the fish sandwich from Jim's Original.

    I have never tried it, because it is hard to get past their Polish sausage.

    I tried the Superfish for the first time tonight. Not bad, tasted like most SuperDawg stuff (not a bad thing), The onion roll is good. The two pieces of cod makes it inevitable one is going to fall out while eating. No big deal, tuck it back in. Good, worth trying.
