Wonderful Rosded lunch today paired with a visit to the incomparable PNA.

Two of us shared three dishes, one from the regular menu, crisp juicy Thai fried chicken and two from the Thai menu, translated by Eric M. above. The two "secret' menu items were suggested by JeffB in the PNA thread , Thai Chicken Biryani (kao mok gai) ข้าวหมกไก่), and Leela Punyaratabandhu in Gallery: 10 Overlooked Thai Dishes in Chicago from Leela Punyaratabandhu of 'SheSimmers' on Serious Eats, Fried Wide Rice Noodles with Chicken and Eggs (kuai-tiao khua kai ก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่).

The Rosded - PNA 1 - 2 punch is one of the best in Chicagoland and one I will be repeating often.

Thanks for reviving the thread, G Wiv!

Just dined here for the first time a few weeks ago despite us living nearby in Albany Park.

Went with some of the recommendations here and tried their beef curry noodle soup and one of their fried catfish dishes and neither disappointed! Will definitely be coming back and will also check out PNA!

Has Rosded quite closing for an hour or so in the afternoon? A Google query shows a closed period between 3:30 and 4:30, which is consistent with what I have observed fairly recently but could be out of date.

I noticed that as well, though I have no idea if they keep with the practice. For the definitive answer call Rosded and ask.

I miss Rosded so much (especially this time of year--they made the best soups). Their tom yum noodle siu mai soup was the best (and a little different every time. , I've been riffing on Thai noodle soups using Pai's recipe for tom yum noodle soup (Hot Thai Kitchen) but it's not quite the same. I really like the pork broth though...
