That'd why it was the best when Hero's was open on the corner of Western & Addison, grab one of those and you were good to go.

    Hero's? I've always preferred Nemo's.

I preferred Nemo's but Hero's was directly in my path to the ballpark thus easier, cheaper and still awesome.

Not in my order, you must have got the entire Midwest allotment of Sichuan peppercorn powder. I asked twice for extra hot, waited a minute or two for them to bring out fresh product, and still thought there was about as much mala as a cherry Popsicle. Good crunch though the white meat chicken was slightly spongy. Also, not to pile on, the noodles had a weird powdery texture.

I own that I'm a Pandapologist, and I'll agree with K-Pang's take that "it's not not delicious." I thought the Sichuan chicken was surprising, if not challenging, in depth of flavor, and better for exterior texture than most other offerings there. I concur the interior is a little mystery-spongy. The overall sensation is indeed BWW boneless wings dusted in a good Korean ramen flavoring packet. I can see how that's not everyone's cup of pu-erh.

The All American Burger lunch special at Buffalo Wild Wings in Skokie. Don't ask me why I was there or why I ordered a burger at a place that supposedly specializes in chicken wings.

The deed is done and I highly regret it. Fortunately, Yom Kippur is coming up soon and I can atone for my sin. 8)

The proper penance is to describe the abomination, not simply mention it.

Sonic Drive in has a CarHop Classic, Double Cheeseburger and Tots for $2.99. Well they added a "Philly Cheesesteak" to their menu and to the CarHop Classic. So I took a chance. I asked for no onion, of course I got onion, This "Philly" is on a tiny 6" hot dog bun and it had maybe a spoonful of meat shmeared along the bottom of the bun, didn't even half fill the bun. Their website shows it overflowing with meat and not that I expect them to match a marketing photo, you can at least fill the tiny bun. Taste was meh, though I was distractedly scowling at others eating their double cheeseburgers and not really enjoying or tasting the sandwich. And this was a week after I tried a "Philly" at Jasnaks in Calumet City. They make it with ground beef. They did fill the French bread with the meat at least.

I’m sorry, I’ll eat most mistake orders I’m given but if I order a philly and get ground beef there’s gonna be a scene.

That sounds like the chili they use on chili dogs minus any spice. Yuck!

I treat Buffalo Wild Wings like a bar without a food menu. Booze and ice water only, but plenty of sports on at least. Ironically, when I wanted to enjoy them in this narrow role, they still let me down. A month ago, while CBS-Viacom was in a stalemate with AT&T, and the channel was blocked out on my U-Verse cable (and my TV couldn't get it via antenna signal either), I went to the Old Orchard location to watch the final round of a PGA tour event. Their provider is AT&T DirecTV, so they didn't have CBS either.

    Very narrow utility in BWW.

When you are on the road ( as I often am ) and want a quick meal, I find BWW wings quite good.

Rice soup at East of Edens. Thick gooey bland, tasted like powdered milk mixed with an overabundance of corn starch, water and cheap under cooked rice. I go to East of Edens every two or three years, guess it takes me that long to forget just how few shits they give, service, food, interaction. At least the place is fairly clean.

Chicken sandwich at Brackets, the only restaurant in this wing of DCA (Reagan) airport.

You know that Popeye's sandwich? Not that.

Soggy bun, greasy breading, arrived late, coated fries, oddly chemical Sriracha aioli, the $0.50 upcharge for grilled onions was about a teaspoon, the pickle, lettuce and tomato I was told come automatically were represented by a centimeter-square scrap of wilted iceberg.

I picked up a bag of kettle chips from Great Lakes Potato Chip Co this weekend. I was in a saucy mood and decided to go with barbecue flavor but failed to notice the extra CHERRY in the flavor description. I tried some last night and again tonight. Simply dreadful, like washing down some chips with cough syrup. It's too bad since the texture seems really nice and the chips are large and satisfying. I might try the chicken wing chips.

I forgot all about this thread. And then I tried Jaffa hummus and felt compelled to warn others. It was on sale for 99 cents at Jewel a couple of weeks ago. It was overpriced.

Thanks for the intel. I picked up two of the Jaffa hummus during that sale. Haven't cracked them open yet.
