Cross post from main Nhu Lan thread.
Lincoln Square location is closed for remodeling with signs directing to the 4810 N. Sheridan location. The building expansion to the rear has been going in fits and starts for what seems like several years but has been showing activity in the last few months. I suspect that considerable interior rearrangement will be needed to incorporate the additional space.

    2) The reborn El Nuevo Tipico in Skokie had a "closed until further notice" sign - not confirmed by Google or their own website. Hopefully something temporary.

Curious about Lizzy J Cafe at 2205 W. Montrose. They seem to be closed during their usual hours every time I drive by and some on-line reports are saying “temporarily closed.” They were always packed and were a great option for the area - hoping it is just temporary.

Same fate for L&M Parkside up the street. This was a bit less surprising, as it didn't seem to be a great fit for the space and neighborhood to me.

    Sigh.
So it will have to be deleted from my bookmark page. For that, I preserve what I wrote about the address.
My regular bookmark page wrote: This is a pub at 4530 N. Lincoln Av. It was a pub owned by ex-STING player Arno Steffenhagen back in 1984 (named "Arno's Place"), and during that year, here is where I had the craft beer epiphany. It was here one night in May 1987 when I wound up sitting next to the STING's Kenny Stern as we watched game #7 of the Major Indoor Soccer League Final between Dallas and Tacoma on its C-Band satellite television system. (Dallas won.) Then inexplicably, I did not visit here for twenty-one years, during which time it became The Grafton. The aura of the pub switched from German to Irish, but sections herein have not really changed.

    From the restaurant Facebook post:

    End of era !

“After nearly 25 years in the Gold Coast, Tavern on Rush will be closing its doors for good after this year on Sunday, January 1, 2023. The closure is strictly due to the end of our lease agreement with the landlord.
We owe our decades of success to our loyal customers and hardworking staff, many of whom have been with Tavern on Rush since its inception in April of 1998. Chicagoans are invited to dine with us in the coming months to celebrate and say goodbye to the Tavern family.
Known as the place “to see and be seen” in Chicago, Tavern quickly became a premier dining destination and a fixture on Rush Street. The contemporary steakhouse has been featured annually on the US Top 100 Independent Restaurants List.
The last day of service for Tavern on Rush will be on New Years Eve (Saturday, December 31st).”

Once upon a time in early 1980s, there was a restaurant called 'On the Tao,' which I remember vividly. I am sure they are not related, though it was nice to revisit this memory.

A new Sichuan spot is opening in Lakeview. They got their business license yesterday and their website is up with a menu. The menu looks to have some authentic options, so this is good. Not far away is a few other pretty good Sichuan spots in Da Mao Jia and Chengdu Impression.

This replaces Emperor Cusine, which was a mostly American Chinese spot. Good to see another more authentic Chinese restaurant open in this area, adding to the number of them in the general area (LP/LV)

In spite of what their website says, Szechuan Corner will be in Lakeview, not Lincoln Park. Diversey (2800 N) is the dividing line between Lincoln Park and Lakeview so 2910 is definitely in Lakeview. This is good news because the restaurant is near the east end of the strip of stores at the south end of a shopping center anchored by a large Jewel Osco store. Parking should be easy. For reference, La Gondola is in the same strip several storefronts west.

You probably quoted the error in the restaurant's web site. Why they wanted to say their location is in Lincoln Park rather than Lakeview is anybody's guess. I think that emphasizing the good parking rather than the congestion and bad parking in most of Lincoln Park would be smart.
