I truly don't understand the logic of the location of this place. It's a stone's throw away from:
Once Upon A Bagel
1888 1st St.

The owners of the recently shuttered Milwalky Trace have reopened a new barbecue restaurant in its place.

Well, if they really are serving “ribs so delicate they’re barely clinging to the bone.” I won’t need to make the trip.

Katie wrote:I don't understand. Can you point to some posts of mine commenting on places I haven't eaten at? If I have, it's surely been a long time since, because I think I've learned my lesson about that. I know you think of me as just a suburban housewife who doesn't get out much, but I'll put my passport and hiking boots up against anyone on LTH any day of the week.

I don't intend to shoot the messengers but commercial BBQ is almost always disappointing, especially when cooked on mechanical smokers at chain entities. Even you, in your praise, lead with the fries. When the BBQ is truly great, no one even mentions the sides. Now, get off my lawn!!

Have you been to Smoque? I make some mean BBQ, but Smoque is a favorite of mine. And they do have a few great sides - mac, brisket baked beans, cobbler.

I love Smoque and I love many of their sides but if the sides were the best thing they did there, I wouldn't be nearly as big a fan. BBQ is about meat. Not sides. Not sauce.

Text indicates that Green Leaf Thai Cuisine will be in the Opart space, which is at 4658 N. Western. I am not sure whether 4658 N Lincoln is the parking lot where the Lincoln Square farmers' markets are, the building just south of there which houses a health club, or some CTA property. I hope that the rest of Eater's details are more accurate than the address.
The familiar Lincoln Square space where Opart Thai House served customers for 34 years is once more serving tiger cry, pad Thai, and a few new menu items as Green Leaf Thai Cuisine opened its doors on Monday.

Buttermilk, a breakfast/lunch place has opened on Freedom Drive in Naperville. They have a location in Geneva, too. There's also a Sharko's BBQ there -- not sure how long it's been open.
Chuy's, a Tex-Mex place has opened at Cantera in Warrenville. I would say it's good Tex-Mex. I like the flautas. After having lived in Dallas for a couple of years, sometimes you just have a Tex-Mex itch, and this scratches it....
The haunted Jimmy's CharHouse/City Island/Timber Lodge/Boston Blackie's location at Rte 59 & Rte 34 has notes in its windows -- coming soon -- Italian inspired dining. I guess I was driving too fast to get the name.
The Chicago location of Sullivan’s Steakhouse — a River North staple for more than 20 years at 415 N. Dearborn Street — will close for good next week
Bamyan Kabob is the Mediterranean, middle eastern and European Zabiha Halal restaurant. It has comfortable interior and nice service. We would like you to come to visit us and try our delicious food.
