Starting on Thursday, fans of Mott St’s juicy double-stacked burger will no longer be dependent on the West Town restaurant. A spin-off dedicated to serving the burger, Mini Mott, opens in two days in the former Jam space at 3057 W. Logan Boulevard Logan Square.

They are next to Monk's on Lake Street - probably about 207 W Lake

This is incorrect. I stopped by yesterday. They're not open yet and I was told that they won't be until early next week.

Not sure when you stopped by, but they definitely did a service last night and will be again tonight.

Est. 1943 Uno® Pizzeria & Grill Goodbye Is Never Easy. It's with sadness we write to let you know that our UNO in Gurnee has closed. We have enjoyed being a part of this wonderful community and will truly miss the friendships and partnerships we have made. Our entire staff will sincerely miss serving you and we thank you for sharing your time (and appetite) with us. TBH I've never -- literally never -- been to an UNO outpost that came anywhere near the quality of the original UNO/DUE locations. Maybe Gurnee was a rare exception, but if not... hopefully something better will take its place.

Years later, I met Jay Martini who said that the far northern suburbs are where good ethnic food goes to die. Sadly, he seemed to be right.

When Ike Sewell's widow sold the franchising rights, she obtained an agreement that they would never change the pizza recipe at the original locations.

The second location of Stax Cafe is open northwest of the Grand/Halsted/Milwaukee intersection. 522 N. Milwaukee Avenue.

The Italian place that's soon to open (July) in the cursed former Jimmy's Charhouse site at Ogden and Rte 59 is Vai. It's a new concept from the owners of Fire + Wine in Glen Ellyn.
And now open very close by in the old Carrabba's site at that same corner is Al-Quds Restaurant, serving shawerma, falafel, seafood, as well as breakfast -- although they don't open until 11:00. website
Good luck to both!

Bar Ramone, a wine bar overseen by LEYE sommeliers Ryan Arnold and Richard Hanauer, will open later this summer in the old Bottlefork space (441 N. Clark St.), a narrow room wedged between Frontera Grill and Bub City.
I am sure it's aimed at the Northwestern students who are not from here and their equally unaware relatives who visit them.scottsol wrote:Replacing Yeero Revolution at 1009 Davis in Evanston is Chicago Hot Dog & CO. I know nothing about the place but will nevertheless predict that it won't be very good. The name just has bad juju. A great Chicago dog joint should have a punny name or be named for the owner/founder.
Worse yet, if you're going to name a place Chicago Hot Dog the last place you would want to do it is in the Chicago area.
