In October the LTH Evanston Lunch Group will meet just a little far afield from Evanston at Wholly Frijoles in Lincolnwood. Wholly Frijoles has been around 18 years and describes it’s food as “authentic Mexican with a gourmet twist.”
Join us there on October 17th at 12:30.

What is the plan? Even with the $10 express lunch specials, and sparse appetizers, this could cost more than previous lunches.

And I'd prefer the regular menu which starts At $16 for the lunch price, and adding half a side ($3), beverage ($3), quarter of two appetizers ($5), tax and tip ($7), would be around $34 per person. I'd be OK with more. I would NOT be happy with sharing 2 entrees, one side and one appetizer per 4 people.

Hmmm, OK, salads are $11 and "simple" tacos, burritos, etc are $9-12 so that helps, but only a little unless we skip all the other dishes except express lunch specials.

Perfect! Order what you want with a separate check or come another day with like-minded friends.

I can envision you may still be enjoying lunch with the rest of table finished with theirs and packing up to go.

I was asking. I don't want just one regular menu item.

Isn't it better for those who haven't responded to know the plan to decide if they want to come?

We ate there at least once a week for years. Portion sizes are good and the meals all come with either soup or salad and most include sides. My go-to was the grilled snapper fillet which came with chipotle mashed potatoes (and soup or salad). Plenty of food for the money.

For nearly 15 years now, we've had no plan, other than common sense — to arrive and see what looks good, and what is possibly sharable. We have no plan, we have no esteemed leader, and we fully embrace anarchy.

Look at it this way, if the menu isn't appealing when you get there you can hop across the street to Long John Silver's*.
