Any updated views on the Anova One, which now seems to be consistently priced at $199 and available on Amazon Prime?

I'm considering the Anova as well - add me to the list of folks who would appreciate any updated opinions!

I've been very happy with my Sansaire (Sansaire.com). It's an elegantly simple design. We've got some marinated chunks of lamb going at 130° right now.

I've been very happy with my Anova, used it perhaps a dozen times since I got it 8 months ago or so. One issue I have had with this and other immersion circulators is it sometimes makes the lights flicker...not so much a problem in my current house, but it was previously (and predominantly with a different, borrowed machine). Otherwise, my Anova is solidly built and keeps temperatures well, even for 24-hour-plus cooks.

$199 is the normal price for the Anova One, they have been occasionallly posting discount codes on their Facebook page so you may want to keep an eye on that to save a little money. https://www.facebook.com/AnovaSousVideCooking

I have the new Anova Precision Cooker from their recent Kickstarter campaign, it has a slightly smaller heating element (800 watts vs. the Anova One's 1000 watt element) but it seems to perform as well as my 1000w circulators.

Anova has been acquired by Electrolux, who says that the brand name will remain intact.

I realize this post is 2-3 years old, but in case anyone else is reading this for the first time as I am - If a 1000W device is making your lights flicker, then you have significant electrical problems in your abode. It is not an issue of the device.

Or it could be a short in the device.

Anova has replaced my (well out of warranty) original unit. It was turning off due to low water warning (not accurate, tank was full) I had to send them a video demoing the fault, but they came thru with a refurbished unit that works just great.

I bought an Anova over a year ago. I haven't used it a lot over the year (I tend to eat out a lot or have quick meals at home) but I love it so far. Every single steak I have cooked with it has come out perfect. Didn't matter if they were fresh, frozen, pre-seasoned or not. I am starting to experiment with chicken and other things now and I finally ordered a vacuum sealer to keep things in the freezer longer.

Extra thick or even double cut, bone-in pork chops work great. After 24 hours they're tender but still retain just a perfect bit of chew.

I always recommend carrots for new sous vide users. You can dial in that perfect tender yet toothsome you find in a couple bits in a pan of roasted veggies.
