I have just sent out directions for Sunday. If you didn't get them, let me know.
Kalamazoogal - please have your friend Missey join us.
Clelamatron - please join us also.
Helen G - it will be good to have you as well.
Irisarbor - sorry you won't be making it.
We will find a place to squeeze everyone in.

Buckwheat madeleines sound fantastic, Pairs4life! I've reconsidered my plan and am now leaning toward cookies: the Gingerbread Pepper Cookies with Espresso Glaze from the most recent Milk Street issue.

BOTH the Buckwheat madeleines AND Gingerbread Pepper Cookues w Espresso glaze sound amazing if you ask me! (did you ask me?)

I got the address message, thanks! I'm not sure what I'll be making yet, but possibly some Greek style almond shortbread (kourabie).

PS - Pairs...I have your friend's jar. Want to swap for my Tupperware? ;)

Was it labeled? If not please describe it.

Nope, no label. It had granola in it. Karen's? It was diamond-cut.

I'm so sorry, guys. I planned poorly and the date zoomed up on me. I have to cancel, but it looks like you have a full house. And a waiting list! Someone just hit the jackpot.

Hated to miss this one. However, I'd like to call dibs on hosting one next year. I have a present I'd like to use. March would be lovely. But we can work it out.

    Again, apologies!

Sorry lovely people, but I have to cancel. I'm sorry it's so last minute. Sue, I've also messaged you, hope you got it. With friends visiting from out of town there have been too many late nights, and with a baby waking up between 5 and 6 am every day and not napping much, I'm not really functioning as a normal human!
    Have a great one.

I had a wonderful time this evening. As always, good eats, good people and good conversation. Sue & Joel, thank you for hosting this month's exchange!

As promised, here are the pictures I was able to snap during the evening sans a group picture of all of us! :(

    Thank you Sue & Joel!

You were fantastic hosts and the food was great. I hope you are resting now.

I think I kept it down to just one pot of tea tonight.

I will link the Baklava recipe I used as a base below.

    https://www.browneyedbaker.com/baklava/

    Baker's notes:

For the syrup, I omitted the orange peel and opted to use 1 tbsp of Rose Water & 1 tbsp of Orange Blossom Water. I also added 1 tsp of whole cloves along with the cinnamon stick. Both were strained out before pouring the syrup over the hot baklava. I found this combination balanced all the floral flavours which was nice for my palette.

For the pastry, I did not add ground cloves, instead I doubled the ground cinnamon measurement to 1 tsp and tossed that into my ground nuts.

Tim... I just had another little nibble of your Baklava (trying to make it last...) and it was simply Heavenly! Thank you for sharing the recipe and your Baker notes!

Thank you for hosting a perfectly wonderful gathering of fabulous food, great discussion and delicious desserts. Cuddles with Annie were a bonus!
And thanks to everyone for welcoming my friend Missey to her first LTH Dessert Exchange. A great way to end the weekend! Celia

Fyi, they were showing up for me on my home machine yesterday but are not currently visible from my mobile device. They are gorgeous images, so I really hope you can get them back up. Please let me know if you need any assistance.

Thank you so much everyone for the compliments on my baklava. I always eat my own cooking and baking so I’ve become slightly jaded in whether or not it is good until I share it amongst friends.

So I am incredibly humbled by how well it was received, thank you. Everything was wonderful last night. In fact, I found myself picking at my container for bits at breakfast. The carrot cake was simply divine, the honey cake was comforting, everything was just so good!
