I get a story not found message from Jim's link. I guess they changed their mind about spaghetti & meatball ice cream.

I've replaced the dead Indianapolis Star link with a live one to USA Today's reprint of the story.

Reminds me of beef sundae at Iowa State Fair, which was beef and mashed potatoes with gravy that looked like a chocolate and vanilla ice cream/whipped cream sundae.

Yes, this and the "beef sundae" rotate around the same conceptual axis of subverted expectations. Kind of reminds me of when I was five years old and grabbed a glass of ice water from the kitchen counter and took a big gulp, to discover it was my dad's martini on the rocks (no olive).

And somewhat perverted expectations as well. There was something grotesque about the beef sundae. Beef and mashed potatoes on a plate, just fine. Beef and mashed potatoes in a sundae glass, kind of disturbing.

PS. Forgot to mention the "cherry" tomato on top.

    I'm not a dessert guy so I wasn't tempted.
