Haven't been there myself, and it's been getting mixed reviews, but if your family likes to try a variety of things, Bar Toma might be fun:

"The fork with two prongs is in use in northern Europe. In England, they’re armed with a steel trident, a fork with three prongs. In France we have a fork with four prongs; it’s the height of civilization." Eugene Briffault (1846)

We've done LEYE's Mity Nice Grill in Water Tower when in the area with our kid (for reference, he's 7) and it's always worked pretty well for us. In fact, I've had some really good stuff (their burger is really good, and their minute chicken entree is completely scarfable).

I pulled this from the events section of the Mity Nice website:

Throwback Tuesday – Enjoy Mity Nice Grill favorites at a special price! Available after 4pm.

Frankie's Scallopine or Frankie's 5th Floor Pizzeria over in the 900 N. Michigan building could work as well.

An Epic Burger has recently opened at the corner of Pearson and Wabash.

Totally forgot about Pizano's. Perfect. I knew LTH wouldn't let me down. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Pizano's was even better than I remembered. One of Chicago's treasures. No GNR?
