I just realized that I have some Restaurant.com coupons that will soon expire, one of which is a $25 cert to Noon-O-Kabob. Since it's a requirement to order $35 worth of chow, I figured LTH can help me with that!

I'm thinking a nice buffet for 8 would be just the right size. Booze will have to be paid for separately, since it's unclear whether that's included on this certificate.

Let me know your favorite dishes and I'll set this dinner up with management ahead of time. I've never been here before, so everything looks tasty to me; dishes with the most votes win. I'm thinking 3 appetizers & 4 entrees. Dessert can be ordered per person. (I'm not sharing my saffron gelato! :P)

May I join? I haven't been for a long time, so I will the lose, have no suggestion at all. I liked their Koubideh, but I think you specified veggie, so anything is good.

May we add an appetizer, Kash-Ke-Bademjan? Post by kennyz here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5283&hilit=noon+kabab

I also had a restaurant.com coupon for Noon-O-Kabob, and was emailed saying that they would not longer accept it as they dropped out of the program. Before you plan a whole night of it, I'd call and make sure they still accept the certificate!

What a great idea, I have coupons to Spoon Thai and WASC that I need to get rid of (I find it hard to spend $50 and $20 at those places, respectively). Two questions, though: what will be the approximate cost for those of us on tight budgets? and what time would it be?

Someone may want to check my math, but the dinner itself should be only $7 per person.* I mentioned that drinks, soup, and additional desserts are not included in this price. With the addition of the most expensive soup, the most expensive drink and the most expensive dessert per person, it's $20 each.

*All dishes on the list comes out to $57.65**, plus 11.50 tip, plus $5.75 tax, minus $25 restaurant.com coupon = $49.90 divided by 8 people = $6.24, yes?
**Going by prices listed on website

If you're talking about Friday's dinner, it's at 6:30. If they're taking these coupons, that is...I'll call them today and post later on.

Kennyz - Thanks for the heads-up. Not much of a dessert person as it is.

pe lady - Can we back out the Shirin Polo, unless someone else like dessert for dinner? Oops, bad call on my part, sorry. Hope I didn't mess up your math.

According to Aaron at Noon-o, they are still accepting certificates as long as they were purchased before September 2009.

So Suzy Creamcheese is #1 and #2 on the waiting list.

I think since it's 1 to 1 on the Shirin Polo, I won't order it ahead of time, but we can always order it when we get there. See you all at 6:30! So hungry...can't wait to gorge myself on hot pita...

Update: I called to reserve our table and it's under "LTH Forum." I know, big stretch. I asked if I should order everything while I had her on the phone, but she said they don't do that and prep times are only about 15 minutes. So I'll just bring the list.

Suzy Cream Cheese: my +1 bailed, so since we're ordering when we get there anyway, come & bring your friend!

Great, we'll be there at 6:30 more or less (I have an appointment downtown, and have no idea how long the brown line will take from there) and going for the cheapest, drink-, soup-, and dessert-less option :D

Me too, probably. I think I might cheap out and walk over to Cold Stone for my free Like It! Creation.

Say, I was just thinking...if my math was correct, and there will be 9 now, the total should come out roughly the same (including a drink in this calculation).

$7-8 per person for a chow buffet is fuckin' awesome.

We should buy a ton of these Restaurant.com tickets and make regular events so we can sample a lot of different places and dishes for next to nothing. Or is this the point of the Exchanges and the Evanston Lunch GroupTM? If not, we'd need a cool moniker.

That was awesome, thanks Pie Lady! Such a group would be great for us, who A) love to eat out; but B) presently do not have the money to do so, typically.

I second Suzy Creamcheese. I had a great time. I'm so full. Luckily I didn't finish all of my small concrete @ Scooters & then I did go to the club for a 30 minute wog. That should cover the calories in 3 teaspoons of Scooters' Custard
