I'd take issue with the first sentence, "The artisan whiskey industry has a big secret": This isn't really a secret.

The article did not mention that HighWest blends their house distilled spirits with the IN booze.
Got this from the National Sales guy from HW.
The truth is, we've been very transparent about the fact that we both distill and source. The way we approach crafting whiskey is very similar to a vintner who utilizes multiple vineyards/varieties. We like the diversity...and the results that come from blending. My only real gripe with this article is that the author states that ALL of our whiskeys come from MGP. Simply untrue, and David never said it. And, unlike some of the other distilleries mentioned, we have never bottled an MGP (or any other sourced) whiskey on its own, nor purported to have distilled something which we had not.

At least they admit that FEW, among others, actually distill all their own stuff. They didn't mention Koval, but they do all their own distilling, too - and they distribute the German-made stills that many craft spirits producers use.
