I actually spent too much time thinking about that myself!

However, I've come to believe that this is just an example of zealous trimming. To what would be my disappointment, the rib cap seems to have been removed.

It's a ribeye; just a very well-trimmed one. Or, perhaps this is a true rib "eye"? And what I purchase (termed "entrecote" in Sweden/France) is more like a boneless rib steak?

And it's a gorgeous steak. However, I'm still wondering how many days it has been dry-aged. Perhaps not as many as I've been spoiled to know as "dry-aged".

One way or another, the picture truly belongs in this post. I'm just hoping that ronnie_suburban posts us some grill/plate pics, too!

Thanks nr706 for getting the sibling rivalry stoked up...

I mean, jeez, the guy (my brother) posts what, like three lousy pictures (in MY thread and after visiting MY city and purchasing a dinner that I cooked in MY home, mind you) and the bum gets nominated to this thread?!?

The very thread that has compelled me to post gratuitous picture after gratuitous picture and yet who's nomination has still eluded me!?! I'll keep trying, but...

In the meantime, it does not pain me in the least to dust off the rule book and declare these photos as non-eligible due to being posted before the contest's acceptable timeframe. Ha! How ya' like that, SoxFanGormand, or whatever your tag is...

Besides, I'm pretty sure he cheated and inserted a glass eye right before taking that shot...

    Bridgestone,
Sorry I missed you when you were in town a few weeks ago. You're lucky to have such a brother. Maybe one day he'll teach you how to take decent photos.

I'm not sure if it's fair to have two ronnie_suburban ribeyes nominated in such close succession.

I'm not sure if it's fair that ronnie_suburban is privy to such fine cuts of beef.

    Anyways, here's the latest

Rene G posting here about this Carolina hot dog variant served in the Loop.

NOTE: Having since eaten one of the pictured hot dogs, let's just say the food is less delicious than it appears in this photo. Not bad, but not the mouth-watering experience one might have anticipated.

    A) Limit the size of your pictures to no more than 600 pixels wide.

    B) Put them in a regular post the exact same way you put them in this post.

Well, with 2 minutes officially to go, thanks to all who went out and shot pictures, and while the time for posting of them is about to expire, if you've seen anything you thought was award-worthy, feel free to repost it here for the next few days with a link back to the thread (as long as the thread was during May or June).

The judges will start their deliberations and look for announcements of the winners in a few weeks, maybe less. Thanks and once again, it's such a pleasure to see all the great photography that people take and share with others here, that's what LTHForum is all about. I've really enjoyed it and I look forward to finding out who the winners are too!
