It will be at a minimum vegetarian, but quite possibly vegan & or gluten-free.

I usually feel strongly pulled to do something specific and I wait for that, but I also usually know what that is by now.

Food labels are not usually printed until late Saturday or Sunday morning, so there is time. For now, I am calling it vegetable stew, which covers a lot of territory.

I will bring a Mint Drink concentrate from the 2012 Illinois State Fair. For reasons I cannot recall, I was not at the Fair that year, so I never tried this beverage. I have the mint, so I may as well!

My contributions will be last-minute decisions, so I'll make my own labels, being sure to include all the pertinent ingredient information.

Hi Cathy- My friend Joan that came three years ago, is finally able to come again, and my friend Laurence is coming too. Laurence is bringing a gluten free french toast, which he says is similar to bread pudding, and I am bringing tabbouleh salad and a bowl of ratatouille. Thanks, Nancy

I've been to countless stores and two farmers markets and no green tomatoes so far, so unless I find tomorrow morning, I'll be bringing "Carey's Pearies" instead, basically the same recipe but with green unripe pears, which I have in "unlimited" supply. Unfortunately that is my "C" game, not even a "B" game yet.

Are we going to have enough plates, plastic silverware, cups, ice and water? I did not see anybody sign up for it, but if anybody brings watermelon, make sure you cut it up before you come, or bring a sharp knife to cut it with. I remember a few years ago somebody brought a large melon, and people were using a plastic knife to cut it up.

We have suggested people take care of their own water needs. I will bring a three (or four) gallon water dispenser borrowed from IrisArbor. jlawrence01 will bring a case of water bottles, too. If you have a bottle of water in your car just in case, then we are covered.

There are alcoholic beverages. justjoan will bring punch, which needs ice. I will bring a mint drink concentrate that can be diluted to taste. We probably need some soda or non-alcohol drinks and ice. Just remember no beverages in glass bottles due to Forest Preserve rules.

I have plastic forks and spoons, though no knifes. If someone has plastic knifes, bring some expecting there will be some need. I will bring a few knives for service, but will keep them in the car until needed.

I will bring plates, bowls and cups as back up. If people have these in odd amounts or leftover from a party, please bring. Bring Solo red cups, because Europeans have them at all their American parties. Nobody will fuss eating off a NYE 1999 plate. :D

    Plastic garbage bags are needed.

Fifille is doing tablecloths. Cynthia is bringing two paper towels, napkins and gallon ziploc bags. kellie provided take-out containers.

i'm bringing 1 bucket of my usual fruit punch as well as my current favorite cake: italian ciambellone, to which i'm adding sour cherries. i've changed it up so it has no cow's milk dairy in it (vegetable oil and goat's milk kefir instead) and it's delicious. i'll bring a small quantity of napkins and paper towels, too. the punch does need ice, which i wasn't planning to bring, but i can stop for some if necessary....
