As usual, this is the time of the year to be thinking about cookies. This year's cookie exchange will take place on December 10 from 4-6PM so it will not conflict with our annual Holiday Party. Everyone is to bring a dozen cookies for each of the people attending and a dozen cookies to share at the party. In order not to go totally crazy with making cookies I capped it at 8 so we will only need to bring 108 cookies total if everyone shows up. I will serve supper at my house for all the participants, so please come hungry.
I look forward to seeing our intrepid bakers and cookie makers at the exchange.

She usually PM's the address - the location is quite close to the Delightful Pastries shop on Lawrence http://www.delightfulpastries.com/

I am so sorry to not be able to make it this year!

Hello! I live in the NW suburbs, will attend and bring lots of cookies too. Is there any way of knowing what type of cookies everyone is bringing so I make sure I don't duplicate what someone else will bring. Thank you. Marilyn

Not sure on what I'll bake yet
But it may be a bar cookie

Hello! I have figured out what I am going to bring. For sure, baked pecan rum balls. Possibly, in addition, chocolate lava cookies. I am testing recipes, will decide on which ones taste the best. I also am into lowfat baking due to my husband's heart condition, so I will be trying a low saturated fat recipe for the pecan rum balls. If it tastes as good as the higher saturated fat recipes, I will be bringing the healthy version of the recipe. Will let you all know. Same with the chocolate lava cookies, I am trying 2 or 3 recipes, will decide if I like these enough to bring for the exchange. Thanks everyone, looking forward to this! And though I do not keep the cookies for myself and my husband, since he is really not allowed to eat cookies, my adult sons are looking forward to what I bring them!

I will be bringing macaroon-chocolate bars
    High in delicious ness

Also as a reminder to newbies we usually pre-package the cookies in bundles of 12 to make the exchange easy.

Elaine, I think that is a great idea I will have all the cookies prepackaged. If everyone could send me the recipe so I can get a booklet going for all the participants so if you like a particular cookie you can make it at home.

    Hi,

If an eighth person does not sign up, I will make a second cookie to bring it up to eight varieties. I also get double contributions from everyone, ok?

Or maybe mkr has this covered, who seems to be bringing two types of cookies?

    Hi Cathy
That sounds like a great idea, if you want to bring 2 types of cookies then you can get an extra bag of cookies to take home with you.
I wanted to ask if there are any limitations or allergies from anyone in the group?

Let me know what you are making so I can post it on the list. I am still playing around with a couple of recipes depending on which type I like the most that is the one that I will make.

    Dobra,

    JennyIL is bringing Gingerbread cookies.

I just saw this recipe for Polish Gingerbread Pepper Cookies with an expresso glaze. I think these may be different enough to not compete with Jenny's efforts.

Ok? If not, I will propose another cookie.

I will let you know my second cookie soon.\

I did not receive a message regarding where this cookie exchange is taking place. Looking forward to tomorrow! Is it best to bring 1 large storage container or several plates and XL Ziplock bags? Also, please delete the chocolate lava cookies, I am bringing baked chocolate pecan rum balls. Thank you. Marilyn

I read back over the messages and found out the answer to my question: "Also as a reminder to newbies we usually pre-package the cookies in bundles of 12 to make the exchange easy." So I am presuming it might be a good idea to bring a small box to carry home the various plates of cookies? Thanks again! Looking forward to what everyone is baking!

Most people bring the cookies prepackaged in little bags or tins, so you just have to make sure that you have a bag that will carry all that.
