    Join us with the WMS and the IMA to socialize and learn about mushrooms of Wisconsin and Illinois.


    Presenter: Patrick Leacock, mycologist, conducts research and citizen science, beginning in 1997 with the Field Museum of Natural History, the Illinois Mycological Association, and the North American Mycological Association. Patrick started out with the Minnesota Mycological Society in the 1980’s. He is assembling the Chicago mycoflora of over 1200 species; http://www.mycoguide.com.

    Opportunity to join the Wisconsin Mycological Society or the Illinois Mycological Association

    Attendees will have full access to the Natural History Museum and can buy a ticket for the Civil War Museum.

    In addition to our event, the Natural History Museum will also have the Gateway Rose Society Rose Show and the 41st Annual National Juried Exhibition of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America.

    There will be a farmers’ market on the museum complex grounds that morning, ending at approximately noon.

    A free trolley will provide shuttle service throughout the museum park.


    The Kenosha Public Museum is located at 5500 First Avenue, Kenosha, Wisconsin.

    Directions:

    From the North: Take I-94 to STH 142/Cty Hwy S. Travel east on Cty Hwy S/Washington Road to STH 31/Green Bay Road. Turn right on Green Bay Road and travel south to STH 158/52nd Street. Turn left on 52nd Street and travel east to 6th Avenue. Turn right on 6th Avenue and travel to 54th Street. Turn left on 54th Street and travel to First Avenue.

    From the West: Travel east on STH 158 to 6th Avenue approximately seven miles. Turn right on 6th Avenue and travel to 54th Street. Turn left on 54th Street and travel to First Avenue.

    Parking: Free parking for 230 vehicles is available on First Avenue, directly east of the Museum. Free on-street parking is also available in the immediate area.
