Our Titus has a nice piece in Serious Eats on breaded pork tenders. So pleased to see that Kitty's in KC made the list! That Titus sure gets around!

My other career (singing, vs. eating) got a nice bump in the Trib today. The singers are going to celebrate "stellar" with angel food cake, and the string players "slightly vinegary" with ceviche very soon.

    Hi,

Last night, I was reading Cynthia's book. I was very pleased to find mention to Greater Midwest Foodway's beef symposium. Specifically the blind taste test between grass-fed and corn-fed beef, where corn-fed was overwhelmingly preferred.

While I knew Greater Midwest Foodways was mentioned, I was happy to come upon it as a pleasant surprise.

Thank you, Geo. And yes, I think the UI did a great job producing it -- handsome cover and nice design. Definitely complements the work. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to publish a book.

Thanks, jimswside. I actually didn't think to post it here -- probably because I do a lot of speaking all over and don't want to clutter up LTH. Morris Library said they want me back for my corn lecture -- so I'll be back out that way. I normally post speaking gigs on my Facebook author page and everything gets listed on my website, should you be interested in catching my rum program somewhere else.

We have so many award-winning writers in this group, I'm not certain this even qualifies as news -- but the U of IL Press just nominated my book, Midwest Maize, for a James Beard Award. I know nominated ain't won, but it still feels like a nice vote of confidence from one's publisher.
