That wasn't pop. That was Orange Julius. It tasted much like a creamsicle.

Orange Julius isn't the same. They used to use fresh squeezed orange juice. They probably are using concentrate or powdered tang-like orange juice because they are pretty bad.

In Montréal is what is basically a knock-off of Orange Julius, called Orange Julep. It's in the shape of a gigantic orange, c. 10m in diameter. In addition to the orange drink, there's also fast food of the usual sort. During the Summer, the place is so popular it's open 24/7.

I'll never understand why Ruby Tuesday bailed out of the Chicago area.Their salad bar and entree offerings were far better than TGIF or Applebees.

They had a quality Mexican buffet and some amazing corn side dish I will never forget.
They had a location on Milwaukee just north of Lake Street.

And one on Milwaukee just south of Lake Avenue (Glenview). I agree they were a lot better than average for sit-down chain food, where my older son learned to eat salsa (with his hands) and spoke his first full sentence. Yes there's better mom-n-pop Mex in my neighborhood, but they always worked well for a busy family.
