I see threads on quick breakfast and on weekend brunch, but if one wanted to have a nice breakfast meeting over a luxurious omelette on a weekday in the loop, what's a good venue?

Technically not in the loop proper, but Lou Mitchell's fits the bill.

I have enjoyed Cochon Volant and Meli Cafe (again not exactly in the Loop) for slightly nicer breakfasts.

I had a great breakfast last week at Travelle -- beautiful room in the morning and generous (though not inexpensive) choices across the menu.

For a nice (albeit somewhat pricey) breakfast including luxurious omelets, Atwood works.

    Roanoke Restaurant
    135 W Madison, 60602
    (312)940-3760

seems like a restaurant designed in large part to satisfy the desire for quality sit down breakfast right in the middle of the loop.

I haven't personally had their breakfast (just drinks, apps). But if the breakfast menu seems appealing, should be worth your while.

I have yet to be served anything close to a "luxurious omelette" at Lou Mitchell's. It's workmanlike Greek diner food, but nothing more.

I once ordered a veggie omelette at Lou's that ended up with some bits of bacon in it.
I found that to be luxurious.

Cherry Circle Room, Florentine and Steadfast are three other options for upscale breakfasts in the Loop (all located in hotels).

If you don't mind crossing the river to Marina City, there is a Yolk located there too.
