Well, my mistake. I ordered the Italian beef pizza with hot giardiniera (I chose this over the sweet pepper option). It also included provolone cheese and Italian seasoning. And it was excellent - a flavorful, crispy and chewy crust, some nice charred spots, flavorful Italian beef and the toppings were really well applied and balanced. This was a real surprise.
They have a fairly expansive beer list too. I had this Tokyo Black porter from Japanese brewer Yo-Ho Brewing Company which I enjoyed.
How is it that Parlor has been open this long and been so ignored by everyone here?

I can't speak for anyone else but a credible claim of racial discrimination made against them was enough for me to spend my pizza dollars at any of dozens of other places.
I'm married. One of the perks of being married is not having to go to places like Parlor in your spare time. If you're there for any reason other than a date (or trying to get one) you can do better.BR wrote:How is it that Parlor has been open this long and been so ignored by everyone here?

Parlor Pizza Being Investigated By City For Possible Labor And Anti-Discrimination Violations
Cook County prosecutors are investigating Parlor Pizza Bar’s tax payments. Last month, authorities issued a subpoena for records related to the trendy restaurant chain’s payment of city restaurant taxes. A grand jury subpoena dated May 13 shows the tax division of the city’s Department of Finance was required to produce “records, documents, manner and method of payments including bank accounts payments were made from” regarding Parlor’s payment of the city’s restaurant tax. Chicago’s restaurant tax is paid to the Department of Finance.
