Big hunks of boring meat on big piles of boring rice. Didn't matter if it was lamb, chicken, beef or tilapia.

That second picture is total nightmare fuel. What part of what animal is that?

That's half of a chicken and all of its neck. The meal wasn't a nightmare, just seriously lackluster.

That's very sad; I was looking forward to a chance to try their food. Yemeni is not a common option here and it is disappointing to hear this. Thanks for the pics and report.

Yup, t'was all pretty forgettable. You forgot to mention the "straight-from-the-can" hummus and the tired baba ghanoush. Weren't there some soups too? Maybe we can get Ronnie to post his pictures :)

My words just don't do it justice.

Totally agree.

Your wish is my command.

Caution, though, as the pictures might make the food look better than it really was . . .

That totally looks like an elephant. Chicken necks can make delicious snacks, and even though that particular one does not look as appetizing, I wish they had them in more places.

It's a shame, everything looks really tasty, that hummus especially.

Its a shame really. Though I wouldnt judge a Yemeni restaurant by its hummus and baba - Levantine things with little relationship to South Arabia. Of course, if they are serving it, there is still no excuse for putting out bad product.

I'm still tempted to poke my head in to see if I cant rustle up something tasty. Maybe some salta, masloug or aseed. Who knows, maybe they have daily specials??

Saleh, the owner's nephew, told us there were plans afoot to serve a variety of Yemenese coffees.

We ordered everything available: bean soup, lentil soup (never came), hummus, baba ghanouj, beef and rice, lamb and rice, chicken and rice, tilapia and rice. Tired salads were included. I don't recall if they had any desserts. I hope you have much better luck.
