The first 12 to show up at 1125 W. Lake St. (May and Lake - entrance on May) can have them no charge. Ask for Dave upstairs or call the number on the JDY sign on the building. We also have some their sausages I'll thrown in as well. All I ask is you give honest feedback on this forum. THANKS

Last week I gave into a long-standing desire and wrapped a bunch of cream-cheese stuffed jalapenos in bacon, then baked them at 350 for an hour. I'll have to answer to my doctor later, but man, it was worth it.

The whole thing is silly. You can't eat raw bacon. The real question is, how much bigger do you need to make that to allow for shrinkage during frying? Then and only then will I have my VDay gift.

If you weave the bacon strips into a mat, then fry them with one of those press things (not crispy!) you'd have a fabric which could then be made into all sorts of garments.

I had a baconlicious lunch today at the Julius Meinl in Lincoln Square. Lunch began with baked eggs with swiss and bacon. I'd scoped out the pastry case on the way in the spied a bacon cinnamon roll, so of course I had to order that for desert. Given my waitress's reaction when I ordered, I'd say this is not available every day.

The roll was served warm. A strip of crispy bacon was inserted into the roll when it was rolled. Meinl showed their typical European sophistication and restraint when applying the cinnamon filling, but the balance was good and satisfying.
