J.R.'s son, who has bar and restaurant experience, has come into the business, changes are bound to happen. Hope there are no 'fashion rolls' in Moon's future.

Wow, that sure makes for a leisurely dinner. :P

Got to try Moon's for the first time this past Sunday. Wet and miserable outside, warm and hospitable inside. Had a great, straightforward breakfast of eggs over easy, sausage, and grits with a couple pads of butter melting into them. Great way to start the day, and I'm glad I finally got over there to try it.

    Love,

Today, coming back from the Green Line, I ran into loquacious eccentric, man of many ideas, short order cook and all-around good guy, Henry James...biking down my street.

stevez: You're eating corned beef and grits, eh? I never would have thought of that one.

Henry James: If you've worked here long enough, you've tried just about every combination there is.

2 eggs, grits and a "side" of corned beef has always been my go-to order. No one's ever blinked when I asked for it. All the best on one plate. I knew I liked that dude.

Quiet here on the thread. I promised Mr. X that we would go out for breakfast today so we hopped in the car to Moon's. Love the theater that comes with dining there. The phone was ringing constantly with take-out and delivery orders. Constant flow of people in and out for those take-out orders. Staff behind the counter in constant motion. Grill man Henry James was joined by a grill woman and neither side of the grill was ever empty. Mr. X went with the jumpstart (mentioned above) and I had two eggs over easy, ham and french toast. That was some of the best french toast I've had in years. Perfectly custardy. I didn't have room for the grits, but they looked great. Nice way to start our Sunday.

Amen. I was there yesterday and breakfast was as good as ever. Two scrambled easy with cheese was my order.

I had the pleasure of Mr. Z's company. My breakfast, grits, over easy, sausage and a smile!

Been more than three years since a post in the Moon's thread. Happy to report Moon's is reassuringly resistant to changes in the surrounding area. Lots of corned beef pics in this thread, deservedly so, last few visits grits have spoken to me, and they say Eat Me!

MoonsLTH2.jpg Hot Sauce Happy Face! Hit the spot, especially grits, on a blowy cold day. Breakfast beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
